Come join us as we explore what we wear and why it is important to our culture. Erika Holst, Curator of History at the Illinois State Museum is passionate about sharing stories of people and history through material culture. She has worked in the public history field for 15 years curating more than a dozen specific exhibitions. Her presentation will highlight examples of garments and artifacts from clothing during the 19th century; how it was created, mended, re-made, washed, and ultimately recycled.

Over 500 pounds of items were donated to the Morrison Food Pantry on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024. Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, Homestead of Morrison and Morrison Community Hospital joined forces with a friendly competition to gather items for the Morrison Food Pantry. The pantry was running low on personal care items, so that was a big focus of what was donated; however, there were a lot of food items donated from the group as well. Ascentra Credit Union has contributed $50,000 to the River Bend Food Bank’s and the John Deere Foundation’s “Plowing a New Path to End Hunger” match campaign.
