Name: Discovery Center Chinese New Year Celebration
    Date: February 15, 2020
    Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM CST
    Event Description:
Join the Discovery Center and students from Pangaea International Academy for a
Family Chinese New Year Celebration. Happy "Year of the Rat!"
Our Chinese friends will show us how families in China celebrate this important holiday.
Demonstrations include: an authentic dragon dance with a giant dragon puppet that requires eight dancers to operate, a Chinese Tea Ceremony, and a traditional Chinese cultural dance.
Hands on exploration stations include: writing
Fú - a Chinese character that means 'good fortune', learning about Chinese paper cutting, making a dragon puppet, and sampling Chinese tea. Grown-ups will also be able to address red packets for children by writing names on them in Chinese.
Plan to bring your camera as there will be photo opportunities with the large dragon puppet.
This special cultural event is free with regular museum admission or membership.
